Jamie Guerra, PsyD,
Postdoctoral Psychology Fellow
Jamie works with adults and adolescents in the IOP, PHP and the Emotional Overeating Program at Esperanza. She facilitates DBT groups, assists patients during meals and enjoys occasional therapeutic outings with patients. She is also responsible for insurance utilization and review and clinical supervision as needed.
Jamie earned her BA at Boston University and her Master of Arts in Counseling at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor earning her Master of Arts in Counseling. She earned her Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in Los Angeles. Jamie was trained extensively treating diverse, underserved populations with dual diagnoses and severe mental illness in Los Angeles, California in psychiatric hospital settings, outpatient clinics and in academic settings. She has also completed EMDR training.
Jamie’s approach is holistic and culturally sensitive. She applies appropriate evidence-based interventions for her patients.
Jamie enjoys being a part of each individual’s healing journey. Her goal is to empower those she works with to use the tools they learn during their time with her.
