Binge-Eating Disorder (BED) is the most common eating disorder occurring in 5% of the population. It can be difficult to diagnose as it is perceived as a weight issue and the treatment by healthcare providers is to prescribe weight loss methods.

This presentation will focus on identifying the binge-restrict cycle and accurately identifying BED behaviors using DSM-5 criteria and clinical examples. The psychological factors contributing to BED will be discussed along with the most effective clinical and nutritional treatment strategies.
