Cecelia is currently a PhD Intern and supervised by Susan C. Mengden, PhD, CGP, CEDS-C. Cecelia received her BS in General Studies from Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina, MS in Psychology from Ashford University, and currently completing her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at Walden University. Cecelia has worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, crisis, self-esteem, academic stress, relationship issues, Autism, and eating disorders. She uses evidence-based practices integrating CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, and behavior analysis.

Prior to joining Esperanza Eating Disorder Center, she worked with children, adolescents, and adults in private practice. She also served for the last 9 years for a non-profit helping families and children navigate difficult situations and identifying resources in the community. She completed her Practicum at Restore Behavioral Health in San Antonio. Prior to work in the mental health field she served in the United States Army, volunteered in schools, Veterans Outpatient Clinic, and worked with mentoring at risk youth.

Cecelia’s goal is to provide support, encouragement, and a safe environment to voice concerns and find new coping techniques using evidence-based treatments that can support a variety of patients symptoms and disorders.
